Change is always good, but it can be stressful.
One of the adages I refer to often is: “A change is as good as a rest.” I really believe that change is always good, but I wanted to use myself as an example of how to cope with stress and change.
When I have a lot of change in my life, some days I wake up with anxiety, some days I wake up fine! I listen to my thoughts and I see how my thoughts directly affect my feelings. When I am in stress and anxiety, I feel truly awful. That is when I need to listen to my own advice, CHANGE YOUR THINKING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
I check in with myself and I listen attentively to what I am saying. I then connect the thought directly to the feeling. If I don’t like the feeling, I change the thought. Instead of thinking in fear and negativity, I bring myself to a thought that will create the way I want to feel. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, sometimes it happens instantaneously. Sometimes I need to keep doing it through out the day. Guess what? It works every time!
I try to live in anticipation, excitement and positivity. When there is a lot of change in my life and I focus on this process it is so great to learn again and again that this stuff works! I find that I am grateful to have my life shaken up! I am grateful to have the knowledge and skills that I have mastered over the years. I am MOST GRATEFUL to have the opportunity to share these principals with all of you!
