Feeling stressed? Try this simple exercise.
When we feel stressed and overwhelmed, many times it is because we are worried about a lot of things. We have expectations that we can do everything and do it well. This is not the case!
Next time you feel anxious, stressed and /or overwhelmed take a minute to do this quick exercise:
- Write down all the things you feel you need to do or are worried about.
- Divide them up according to whether or not you can control them. This should eliminate at least 50% of your list, many times up to 90%!
- Now start with your list of the things you can control and do the smallest task on it. It doesn’t matter what it is, just do something.
It’s really that simple…just do something!! This creates movement and gives you a start that ends the log jam!!
