Just a minute: Excitement vs. anxiety.

Anxiety and excitement feel a lot alike – they present the same physiological and neurological reactions. So the next time you’re feeling anxious, pause and ask yourself: “Is this anxiety, or is it excitement?”

EPISODE NOTES

Anxiety and excitement feel a lot alike. Anxiety is a very powerful emotion and there is a fine line where it can push you over the edge to feeling paralyzed or motivated. It can be a good thing or a hard thing. But it always passes.

A lot of times we mistake excitement for anxiety because they do the same physiological and neurological functions. We feel the same way when we’re excited as we do when we’re anxious.

So the next time you’re feeling anxious, ask yourself “Is this anxiety or is it excitement?” The anxiety will pass. Acknowledge it, and it will go away. If it’s excitement, relish it and enjoy it instead of trying to make it pass.

And remember the one minute you spend listening to this may be just the minute you’ll, need just a minute from now.
